When people think of Goodwill they usually think about a place
to buy something cool very inexpensively, or as a place where they can get rid
of all the stuff they no longer want or need. But it’s so much more than that. Their
mission is Elevating People by Eliminating Barriers to Employment. That’s
what you’ll learn about on this edition of Eye on Oshkosh. David Foertsch is
Goodwill NCW’s Skills to Build program leader. He and host Cheryl Hentz talk
about the Skills to Build program and what it is for people who need or want
it. They also discuss in-depth Goodwill’s Goodwill Works program and their
Skills to Succeed Academy. Many of the modules in these programs are instructor-led
or self-directed and can be accessed at their website at GoodwillNCW.org. This
is a fantastic program you won’t want to miss. It truly can offer something for
almost anyone. The show can be seen here or by going to this link: https://youtu.be/GIqfRdwZaHQ.
